KFC dupes UN

turnabout is fair play. :applause:

we've been payin 22% of their tab to host a bunch of ingrates that hate our guts. the only sad part is that it wasn't more embarrasing for them then it actually is.

I'd love to make a political statement here,....but best not. I'm afraid this post would get 'X-ed' out.
-Amen

KFC's dup'in their customers as well, at least in this area.......

gone are the big fat juicy pieces. Now its teeny-tiny midget chickens and prices have gone up !!

US corporations, fast food, tobacco, alcohol, and big oil to name the worst - have no interest in garnering the respect of the member nations of the UN...they have little regard for human life - as a has been demonstrated repeatedly at the cost of many millions of lives.

tobacco has killed millions - fast food has killed or maimed (diabetes - HBP) millions - alcohol has killed millions - and big oil is killing millions.

no one can deny it - yet they continue to poison us, as we continue to consume the poison

back in the day they used to have a piece called a "keel". it was a big knot of white meat that only had one tiny bone in it. now they deep fry the floor sweepins and sell it back to you as "popcorn chicken"

your absolutely right. nowhere in history has there been such flagrant disreguard for others due to corporate greed. and it's all brought to you by the same generation that spit on our soldiers when they came home from vietnam. sadly, many people stand in line to be had this way. and worse still is that fast food isnt fast.

***as for the u.n., they are a consortium of anti-american, human rights violators. respect from them has all the value of a dust mote.

Heywooood, Cheezyflier...check this documentary out:
http://www.thecorporation.com/

The entire film is available on youtube in 23 chapters, but you can also find it other places. The filmmaker makes it available for free, but asks for donations. :ernae:

You don't have to drink, smoke, eat fast food, or drive often...
Only in the UN are countries like Libyia, Syria, China on the Human Rights Panel.
Just sayin'

If you destroy yourself, you're doing it voluntarily. Period.

yes we are doing it to ourselves - as I said - we continue to take the poison.

the point I was making was about KFC having no respect for the institution that is the UN - stooping so low as to use it for sleazy advertising.

Just another example of corporate america's utter disregard for human endeavor or human life

and for the record - no other corporations are more responsible for the abuse of human rights in China than those of the US

We gave them our MFG jobs on the condition that they be able to import the raw materials, mfg the goods and ship those goods back to us CHEAPER than we could simply make them here...there is only one way to do that.....slave labor, zero health and safety concerns, and zero EPA regulations - and everyone KNOWS it.

just sayin'

Choices...Choices Choices

A Capitalistic society is one where, if I make a product and you want to buy it, I am allowed to sell it to you. If Snuffy or someone else comes along and makes the same product or a similar one and sells it cheaper, chances are you will buy his.

I can either go out of business or find a way to make my product better or cheaper than Snuffy's. So, I may look around to see if I can find someone who is willing to build my product for less money. I can then sell it cheaper than Snuffy's. Or, I may try and add something to it that you are willing to pay more to have.

The only other option is to go out of business. If I go out of business the fellow who was making my product loses his job and Snuffy can then raise his price because there is no longer any competition.

So far, Capitalism has been found to be the most fair and equitable system in the world. Left alone it is much like nature, the strong surive and the weak die off. What is left for the consumer is a better product.

I don't believe Capitalism is the perfect system. I believe it could be more compassionate and charitable. However, until each of us who owns stock or is in a mutual fund is willing to earn less money or not care if our net worth drops a quarter or two, CEOs will be pressured to do anything thing they can, within the laws, to make more money every day. It is WE who help make companies so ravenous.

We want these companies to pay greater dividends. If we work at one we want greater pay and benefits. In other words, we are as much a part of the problem as the CEO, who got to that position because he has proven to have the talents and character to earn the shareholders more money.

To wail at companies who must work within this structure when we ALL benefit from one degree to another from the system is a bit like me cursing the $%^&$ rain we have been having down here for two weeks.

It raises your blood pressure and not much else. :)

May everyone have a super duper day!

Looks to me like there's not much left to discuss, if "no one can deny it." What if I do deny it? What happens then? So I guess the rules here are that politcs is indeed allowed, as long as you are bashing America, at which point the "surveillance" comes "ON", watching carefully, evidently, for anyone to disagree with the notion that "capitalism sucks", at which point this thread will be locked. I think I understand now.

Time for the "money speech" again...
