Ki-61 in Japan

Yes, this is a replica. The owner of a motorcycle repare shop, who is an aircraft enthusiast, made it based on a real aircraft he obtained from an online auction. It's open to public in Kurashiki, Okayama prefecture, western Japan.

Quite a good replica, some details are a little confusing (the prop is spinning in the wrong direction, the tail wheel that looks from a ki-61 Ko with cannons from a Ki-61 Hei) but I am just too picky. They have done quite a fantastic job, hope that some ki-61 restoration projects in New Zealand and/or Australia are advancing, can't get info on them. This ki-61 replica is also not the only one in the recent years in Japan, a N1K2 and a B5N1 replicas are in a museum near Kobe or Osaka, I don't remember.
