Kipapa Field

....Never saw so many P-61's parked together at one time. Terrific find dogknot. Now I need to go back an read the article.

Be sure to click on the Picture Archive link at the top of the Kipapa Field web page, too.
Some awesome old photos from the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, etc.

The one of the fellas "boarding" (surfing) behind the old seaplane is classic! ...in the 20's/30's group

Looks like that would be a fun airstrip to do. . .I'm up for doing the AFCAD for it based on the coord's. As for period scenery objects. . .I have none, but the basic field work would be a start.

. . . .After looking at the coordinates and the location it places Kipapa at. . . .a simple flatten and AFCAD wouldn't work as it plops it right down in the middle of a residential area based on current texture tiles. It would need some landclass work just to clear that area for construction and I am nowhere near that level of scenery work.

Sooooooooooooooooo, good luck guys. . .Cees is probably the one for this.

For a pre-50's look at the islands --- Golden Hawaii by Bill Lyons is the only way to go. There are no residential areas nor all the other modern day congestions.

Should be able to carve out airfields within that pkg. The islands are ready for some military development.

1.Kipapa Field area in Golden Hawaii
2. Locale as seen in FSNav

...I wonder if this would be allowed today?.......NOT!
