KitFox STi for FSX?

falcon409

SOH-CM-2022
Anyone aware of one for FSX? I know there's one for MSFS but I'll never live in that realm.

My Great Granddaughter got a chance to go flying last Sunday as part of the Young Eagles Rally at our local airport. She was in a KitFox and loved it and got a chance to fly for about 5 minutes out over Lake Texoma. I was hoping to find one that she could fly in my Sim.

The only one, which came close, I could find was a KitFox classic for FS98 at Simviation.

So no luck.

Cheers,
Huub

What Aircraft Is Similar To Kitfox?

I did a search to see what is out there besides the MSFS which I probably won't have either though I was able to upgrade my video card for less than $30.00 on ebay and I now fly Prepar3D V4.5 as well as FSX. Here is what I found for you to see if you would like a substitute for her to fly in the sim:

The Best 2 Seater Bush planes similar to the Kitfox from Google:

  • Kitfox – Series 7. The most popular kit bush plane is produced by kitfox in the USA. ...MSFS only
  • Just Aircraft – Superstol. ...not available
  • Aeropro – Eurofox. ...not available
  • Rans – S21 Outbound. ...MSFS only
  • Zenith Aircraft – STOL CH750. at Flyaway Simulation-for P3DV4.5 but may work in FSX-890MB complete package with real world liveries
  • Aeroprakt – A-22 Foxbat. ...Available for FSX at Simviation
  • SkyReach – Bushcat...not available
These were their top picks though there may be a few more I didn't find any that are made for the sim searching further. Lots of nice kit built bush stol but only for real life. :wavey:

I Found Another Package

Over at Rikoooo the Zenith CH701 STOL is available for P3DV4.5 created by Lionheart Creations whose Quest Kodiak I have had for many years. Disregard the Flyaway Simulation above for some reason I can't edit the post because this is the same package and it won't take you "5 hours" to download at 48fps at Flyaway Sim. I am going to try this out and see if it is compatible in FSX after I load it into P3D. I'll post here. Probably from what they say this is the most realistic STOL that your great-grand daughter can fly in the sim if I get it to work in FSX too. Otherwise the CH701 at Simviation is a good substitute which IS FSX. Go over to Rikoooo and read about it. I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun flying it.

I have been waiting for the download and did more searching. This was released for FREE after Gibbage and Lionhart with Zenith approval began development of the MSFS version. They said they were going to do an FSX version trimmed down too but I didn't see that they ever did but moved on to MSFS. Anyway, I'll let you all know if it works in the ol' sim tool

Thanks Richard. I've looked at both and decided to stay with either the Super Cub or the Maule (both Tail Draggers). Both are closer to what she flew last weekend and might be more familiar (especially the Cub) in the way the cockpit is done. I'm going to do a repaint to closely resemble John's airplane.

No Problem

Totally cool! The LHC is ONLY working in P3DV4 and the FSDS from Simviation is a "port-over" from FS9 and is very simple in appearance in MDCx. I hope that you have a lot of fun flying with her. Your post gave me an opportunity to find the Zenith from LHC which I am looking forward to having a lot of fun with flying "low an' slow". Thank you.

Have You Two

Has your great grand daughter flown with you yet? Just curious. My grand daughter used to fly with me when she was younger using Rod Machado's flight lessons in FSX but not at 17 she has "grown up" as did all the kids now grown up in their 20's (one a newly wed) that I taught how to fly with FS9 then FSX. Ah, the good ol' days. If not yet, I hope you have a lot of fun when you do. :wavey:

Found One!

Pretty old but able to convert to FSX. Old Fred Choate model I found over at flight sim.com. Has moving surfaces, basic VC and that is about it....

Just converted it. I'll grab a few shots once I get it into the sim.

Having issues with the conversion .All of a sudden my MCX is doing wierd stuff like not animating control surfaces... It's also pretty primitive. Seen more detailed AI planes

Just an FYI. . . .this is the airframe I'm looking for:
