KNJK NAF El Centro - Does Anyone Know Where I Can Download From

I downloaded KNJK NAF El Centro back in 2009 or 2010. I no longer have the ReadMe file for this scenery and I would like to get it or better yet I would like to download the scenery again. I did a search and it is not at sim-outhouse, flightsim or avsim.

Does anyone know where I can dowload the scenery at?

That is not the one that I am looking for, but thanks for trying!

I believe that I got the one I have off avsim, but if I did it is not there anymore.

This may or may not be the one you're after ...

But MAIW (FS9) did a pack featuring VFA-106 Gladiators, in which a NAF El Centro scenery was included. Again, that's an FS9 pack, but I installed it "out of the box" into FSX with no big issues. Not perfect, but well enough for my needs.

A reminder, don't install FS9 traffic bgls, of course ...will bugger your FSX traffic.

Hope that helps,

DL

I have a 2009 release of El Centro done by the Blue Angels, along with the larger 2010 version. You can probably get the older one by asking at their forums or ask Shylock directly.

There are very specific distribution limitations in the readme file, so I can't just share and share alike. If Shylock doesn't have the old one anymore but says it's OK for me to send, I can then upload it to my site for a quick download.

Idaho,
Whatever you've been using, that FSX Blue Angels El Centro package looks pretty good. The Blues' flight line building looks just like it did when my squadron (VA-128) used it during a Visual Weapons detachment many years ago.

I decided to delete the one I had and go with the Blue Angles one linked in this thread.

I do not remember who made the one I had, I do know that it required a military library or libraries by Michael Carr that you had to download separately.

I'm working on a updated version of El Centro which is a complete rebuild of everything. If the most recent version you downloaded off of our site is not the one you had awhile back then contact Meshman being he said he has the 2009 version I had did for public download and I'm sure he can send you that version.

So far I have completed about 75% of the main buildings and now texturing and testing them in game. Me and my buddy are debating about doing the city of El Centro as well. We're going to build the runways in 3DS to reflect the asphalt to concrete back to asphalt like in real life.

TARPSBird are there any buildings you can think of that you might like to see in the scenery? If its there today I'll make it.

The problem with any El Centro scenery is the lower than sea level runway. No matter which scenery, the runway disapears under the ground. AI wont fly in or out. And the fixes posted dont seem to work.

Nice to see some new looks though.

Shylock, thanks for asking but the Blues' flight line building is the only structure I remember well since we had our ready room, admin and some maintenance folks set up there. Haven't been back there in many years. Judging from the screenshots I'm sure your final product will look great. :salute:

Storm believe it or not the folks at Ultimate AI have figured that out I think because El Centro imperial has regular Ai flying in and out. Also if you have military AI converted into FSX traffic, fly's out of my El Centro. While on the ground testing a new object at KNJK I heard a call to the tower for Blue Angel 4 to land. Low and behold Blue Angel 4 F-18 landed and taxied to the spots I have made for our sim team. So it can be done but its beyond me at this point.

My biggest downfall with FSX has been those darn AI programs. I found myself buying scenery of airports but then sitting there in my ground crew character just watching traffic coming and going lol (Plane spotting). I know people hate what some developers are doing by creating people walking around, trees blowing in the wind, but when I play a game and have to pinch myself to remind me its not real, that's amazing.

TARPSbird thank you so much for your service to our country!!!! So I salute you sir :salute::salute::salute::USA-flag::USA-flag::USA-flag:

That's looking really good Shylock. And as for participation...I think I may have drank a beer one night while Shylock was building the last El Centro...not sure now.

Best,

Jim:icon_lol:

Jim you guided me big time and did the Aircraft shelters and were a helping hand. Oh in case your interested Jim I'm also working on a Pensacola Beach scenery so if you wanted to update KNPA maybe we can put them together. Right now I'm attempting to fly down to Pensacola to get pictures on the beach area. I got this far and its been on the back burner:
