Kodiak in Anchorage

We were driving around Lake Hood to enjoy the last bit of sunlight today when I saw this pair of Kodiaks sitting around. I have not previously noted them. They are owned by the US Dept of the Interior (checked by N number with FAA).

By coincidence, so was I!! Must be the association of Kodiak bears with Alaska.

The bears are asleep now. A Kodiak would be a great plane for flying to see them though.

Not all are asleep, them Polar Bears can be something else in the winter to aircraft if ya get close.
