Landing the DC-2

I finally got landing this ship figured out. More or less. The key is looking at the full flaps stall speed. 39 knots! DC-2, DC-3, what's the difference, right? I was thinking 60-ish knots for landing. Think 45... If you “land” this ship at 60 knots, she will be firmly up on the main wheels, with her tail stuck up in the air. And if you even contemplate the brakes at the point she'll be dragging her nose across the pavement for your trouble. Love this Uiver Team X DC-2!

Thanks Paul! We did our best on the FM, with help from the museum guys.
I alway keep flaps at 75%. Then you have a slightly higer speed on the treshold.

Paul:

Glad you are enjoying her. Rob and his team did a bang up job. Despite having the FS9 plane as a reference, the FSX bird was really work wise a whole new project! An amazing amount of dedication and perseverence!

Cheers: Tom

I havent flown this aircraft in ages but never had a problem on landing even on short strips, what I used to do was put the main wheels down and let her roll, then just as the tail came down, hit the brakes and pull the control coloumn all the way back and it would stop almost immediately, rememeber though mate to turn on ya anti-skid brakes too!
