Last Cat files update

BeauBrummie

Home for tea and tiffin!
Courtesy of ndicki, there are now .mos files and damage files for each of the Cats at my site. They are available as a small download alongside the Cats. The aircraft downloads have been upated with these files. They are optional.

Thanks Nigel.

This should be the very last update for these aircraft.

Jeff, do you want to host the mos files for Ted's other aircraft? I've done the ju88Cs, Ju88Gs, Ju388 and Do217Es. The Halibags, Uhus and anything else I can spot come later.

For those who don't know what this little file does, it "hath a twofold operation" - they allow visible damage, but perhaps more importantly when you are talking about aircraft and skins of this quality, they sharpen the visual image radically.

Hi Beau, do I have to add or change these MOS files to the Cats I installed (I mean, updated to that date...) 4/5
days ago in ETO as well as in CFS3 or do I have to do that only in those one installed in CFS3?

Hi,

Firstly these files aren't essential to the functioning of the Cat, but as Nigel says, they will improve them. If I assume you want the effects that Nigel stated, then you will need to add the files to their relevant aircraft wherever they are. So if you have several installs, each Cat will need it's file. plus the damage file into shared folder.

I've done four, one for each aircraft. The mos file name must match the main texture file name and must be in the correct folder, preferably the texture folder, for that aircraft. So if the main texture file is for example, Catalina_MkIII_XYZ_t.dds, then the mos file is Catalina_MkIII_XYZ_t.mos. You can edit them easily using a hex editor - as long as the number of characters remains the same - just like editing an M3D file.
For more complex editing, you need the SDK set from MS. That's a bit more amusing...
