Aircraft: Fairchild C-82
Date: October 15, 2006

The last flyable C-82A had been owned and operated by Hawkins & Powers Aviation , an aerial firefighting company located in Greybull, Wyoming. This plane was purchased at auction by the Hagerstown Aviation Museum in Hagerstown, Maryland. The aircraft was flown to the Hagerstown Regional Airport on October 15, 2006.<SUP> </SUP>This marks the last flight of a C-82. The aircraft will remain on display at the HRA until a dedicated space for it is made available in a future museum building to be built near the original Fairchild Manufacturing Facility.
 
Aircraft: Boeing B-47
Date: June 17, 1986

Final recorded flight of a B-47 was on June 17 1986, when a B-47E was flown from the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California, to Castle Air Force Base in Merced, California, for static display at the Castle Air Museum.
 
Aircraft: Convair B-36
Date: April 30, 1959

"The type was officially retired on 12 February 1959. The last flight of a B-36 was on 30 April 1959, when a B-36J was flown to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, to take up residence in the Air Force Museum, where it still lives today."
 
Aircraft: North American XB-70
Date: February 4, 1969

"Finally, on February 4th, 1969, AV/1 took off for her eighty-second, and final flight, to the Air Force Museum at Wright Field, in Dayton, Ohio. Gathering data throughout the entire flight, Fitz Fulton and Emil Sturmthal made a pass over the runway before bringing the XB-70 down for a perfect landing, then, handing the logbook to the museum curator, officially brought the XB-70 program to an end. [Ed. note - Emil Sturmthal is credited with having said "I'd do anything to keep the Valkyrie flying -- except pay for it myself"] Today, the Valkyrie resides inside the R&D hangar, finally protected from the ravages of time."
 
Aircraft: Avro York
Date: October 9, 1964

"Having been sold to the Skyfame aircraft collection, TS798/G-AGNV made the last flight anywhere by an Avro York. Escorted by two Handley Page Hastings of Nos 24 and 36 Squadrons, G-AGNV flew from Heathrow to Staverton Airport, Gloucestershire to join the Skyfame collection there. Reaching Staverton, the three aircraft made three formation fly-bys before the York landed with the Hastings flying overhead in a final salute. The aircraft landed 50 feet short of the runway, “coming to a halt amid clouds of blue smoke from one of the landing wheel brakes” according to a local press report at the time. The aircraft was later taxied into its permanent display position, with total flying time of some 18,100 hours."
 
Boeing 307 Stratoliner's last flight was August 6 2003 with the arrival of Clipper Flying Cloud at Washington Dulles International Airport before it's inclusion into the NASM there.
