• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Launching an ETO Mission

My 15 year old daughter and I are planning a vacation trip to Europe again this summer. This mission calls for us to visit Germany and Austria and connect with several cities by train. If any of you are in position to link up, let me know and we’ll see what we can do. I won’t be able to use my cell phone there – I may purchase a “throw away” - but I will have my laptop and should be able to maintain contact with the “basement.” I’m packing light, so no joysticks will make this journey.

We will go wheels up out of Dulles Airport in Washington DC on the 7th and, with a quick stopover in London, we’ll be arriving in Munich on the 8th of August. I plan for us to sightsee in and around Munich until the 12th, when or next mission will take us to Salzburg, Austria for 2 days. On the 14th we will be “lifting off” for Vienna, where we will stay until the 19th. Finally we will depart Munich for home on the 20th. I don’t intend to rent a car while in country(ies). Instead we will be making full use of the outstanding rail system there.

I can´t promise it yet, though, because my job might call me on short notice.
