Kevin's L-16 works great in FSX...Except for guages in the VC. Can they be added?

Don't know who Kevin is, but if you point me to the airplane download, I'll swap out the gauges and send you a new panel.cfg

Actually after navigating flightsim.com's less than user friendly search engine, I found the L-16 and installed it. The cab file is in the panel folder, but FSX doesn't read it from there. I moved it to the gauges folder and FSX doesn't read it there either. so where are you supposed to put the cab file in order to have FSX read it? This ain't rocket science folks, FSX reads the gauges from one or the other, but not in this case.:salute:

Ok, I took a look at this inside FSPanel Studio and oddly enough, VC1 Window, shows all the gauges in place as they should be. . .VC2 Window, is the VC that is actually used in the sim and it has nothing showing, so I placed all the gauges where they needed top be and it works fine now. Why would there be two(2) VC cockpit entries for the same view?

Hi Falcon

I have no idea why there are two vc panels. I will give it a shot. Thanks for the help. I will get back to you shortly.:jump:

If you run into any problems let me know and I'll just send you my panel.cfg file.:salute:
On a side note, this is a great little airplane. I know of LIC, flew their Pitts for a while, but I didn't know they'd done anything else. This is really a very nicely modeled, painted and appointed airplane with excellent pilot and co-pilot animations and some of the best facial features I've seen on a freeware offering. Great job LIC!

Kevin is Kevin Lechmanski who has 4 downloads in the archive under "Add-Ons by LilSki". The L 16A is there. He produced some great aircraft and I hoped he would move on to FsX but alas it was not to be; great modeller.

Thanks for the panel.cfg mod Ed. With all the gauges under VC1 pasted and renumbered under VC2 all the gauges show.

I hope LilSki (Kevin Lemanski) gets back in the biz. He's one of those talented young fellows, to whom the Champ Camp is forever indebted for his series of Aeronca Champs and the release of a Paint Kit for all of us old farts that learned to fly in a Champ to paint our favorite. His interest and time waned for sims and progressed to cars and wimmin I believe, can't say I wouldn't have done the same at his young age. :icon_lol:

The L-16A and the Champs work fine in FSX for me, but not being native I get somewhat lesser frame rates than with FSX native aircraft. I get the gauges and all.

No problem Roger, just kinda strange that it works fine right off the bat for some and others get nothing until the mod is applied.

Falcon,
Are you able to post a link of your panel files here?
Just copy and paste these two sections over the existing entries:
