Lightbulb Lasts 60 Years, Costs $2.85

I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of replacing ceiling lights and worrying about breaking anything with the long-handled device I use.

i have a hard time believing something like that will come to pass.
no way it will only cost $3 when/if it hits the shelf in your grocery store.
i'll believe it when i can buy one.

More like 7 to 10 and the fixture will have to be replaced.

$3 to make the new LED, but if it is to be a replacement bulb for a standard 110-120 VAC fixture it will also need a converter to drop the voltage and make it DC current, that will drive up the cost. Add to that the packaging and a profit margin that takes into consideration the life expectancy of the bulb. The market price will probably be at least as much as current LED bulbs if not more, so $70 to $100 each would be my guess as to the final retail price.

Moe, that's "snake oil" advertising. Cut a hole in the roof and you'll have all the light you need. Tho you m ight need an umbrella to keep the rain out. :costumes:
