List Of Planes To Be Included?

Is there a list at this forum or the OFF website of the airplanes to be included in Ph3?

In particular, I have a friend (also a past WW1 simmer) that is getting interested in OFF. (I've been feeding him vids and stuff! :icon_lol: ) He is hoping there is an Airco DH2 included?

Thanks!

Tell him his wishes have been granted, a DH2 does exist in Phase 2, slow, unagile creature that it is.

On the P3 list, only the developers know for sure, but once a model is a stapel in P2, it's Never dropped, only refined

Ohhh nice, I see my favorite is listed!

Sopwith Triplane Twin Guns

And with two peashooters! Always loved this plane in RB3D, but it only had one small gun. :)

Hello,
there were only two of all Sopwith tripes fitted with two guns, and one was in the hands of - err was it Collishaw ? At least one's left for you :d

Unless of course Collishaw bends his and then he will probably get first claim on the other one!

You end up with the single gun type.

Such are the priviliges of rank:applause:

Unfortunately, due to OFF following historic guidlines, in campaign, you have use of 'The Triplane of Death' for only a few weeks. When the entire squadron get's Sopwith Camels.

My solution is to have a Group of say 12 pilots, who enlisted the same day, same squadron. When everybody gets Sopwith Camels, Bert hangs-up his goggles, and lets Harry get a whack

Doesn't do much for my 17 hours, but I don't feel I'd be reaching it anyway :applause::applause:

Actually there were 6 such Tripe hounds

fitted with the twin guns. They adding a significant amount of weight which changed the handling characteristics. Also with the advent of the Camel, they became redundant.

You could end up flying it often by going to a manual advance for "Campaign" and flying say 6 missions per "day".

I too am looking forward to the Tripe, 3rd favorite plane.

DH2, SE5a, Sopwith Camel, Pup, Tripe, Nieuport 11 and 17 are all favorites of mine on the allied side. Despise the Spad VII/XIII with their crummy maneuverability. But since I am "Mr. Random" when it comes to picking sides and squadrons to fly with (I keep a set of dice by my computer and count up the number of available options and roll), I'm sure I'll end up flying those tubs.

Albatross D3 and Fokker DVII on the German are favorites. DR1 is too darn slow and your dead in a fight if you get damaged.

Look forward to two-seater flying now as well in P3. Just wish that more models had been included. It's a bit of a stretch to imagine all German recon squadrons being kitted out with the DFW and the Roland. Should have had the Albatros C classes in there, as well as the Rumpler, which was considered to have been a serious prize by allied pilots to bring down because of its high altitude flying capabilities.

One problem with flying a different bird every night, is you never know how a particular bird is going to react in a particular situation

Unless you have a very, very good memory

Some keep a running pilots log for each type of aircraft

Some might stick to the same aircraft for a couple of months. They know how that aircraft will react to pilot input, before it does :kilroy:
