Loading screen

Can the "loading---please wait" screen with the Japanese Zero and the Hellcat be changed to match the theatre of ops or is it coming from the CD? I have the other theatre of Ops screens that come up later as the loading finishes.

Sure. Any of the images in the game can be changed. Open up the UIRES folder in CFS2 and you'll see all of the images used. Make sure you have the view set to Thumbnails or Large Icons so that you can see the pictures.

You can replace any of the screens with an image of your choice, just be make sure of three things:

• Keep the new image the same size
• Keep the new image the same format (some are BMP's and some are JPG's).
• Give the new image the same name as the original

Just drop the new image into the UIRES folder and you're done. I recommend you either rename the originals or move them into a separate folder in case you wish to change back.

This is very simple to do any you can change everything, giving your game a real custom look.

Run a search for "UIRES" over at either flightsim.com or simviation.com and you should get a host of choices. There were many made the first few years of CFS 2 and many qualify as artwork. In fact, many are from works of art.
