Logbook in FS9 Win7

Hello Everyone:

Is anyone having trouble with the logbook feature in FS9?

I've just installed FS 9 on a new machine (i7-920, ATI 5870, 6GB DDR-3, Win 7 Home). Everything seems to run great, except the automatic logbook feature. I can add logbook entries within FS 9 manually, but when I close out from the menu I get a black screen. If I close out from within a flight I get an error message that says the log book file doesn't exist.

Thanks in advance!!

Most likely an issue with the Windows access rights. Depending on where the sim was installed and what user rights you have set W7 or Vista can be a real pain in the behind.

Try right clicking the program icon and set it to "run as administrator" ..... that might do the trick.

Thanks for the advice. I'll double check that.

Having done a bit more research sounds like this is not an uncommon problem, and a lot of folks don't think the stock logbook is really worth wasting too much effort on.

Thanks again.

Running windows 7 64bit Ultimate with FS2004 v9.1. Have no problem with logbook on my system. FS2004 installed in C:\ ACOF\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 - that way I have no UAC popping up when I change something in FS. Good luck. Ed
