Hey Everyone, :wavey:

Does anyone know of a long range biz jet being modelled?

ie. Falcon 900 etc... (& yes I know about Gulfstream's issue with FS)

any B7x7 with the proper paint and some gold-plated bathroom fixtures will do.. and you can pretend you're a CEO with a nice bonus or a ruler of an oil-rich-state.

This is something I have wrestled with for a long time. I have the Wilco Citation X and Legacy. Nice planes, but a bit over engineered and short on range. I like crossing the Atlantic between Europe and the States on short notice and want a jet that will fly fast and high and has great long range. Used Henry Tomkewicz's AI G5 with a custom made panel for a whille. That worked well.

What works though the best is the classic jetliner - converted to executive travel - made by David Maltby - the Vickers VC-10. It's an absolute delight to look at and fly. Has the most incredible autoland feature which actually works. It was way ahead of its time. Kind of a four engine Gulfstream, with space for a few staterooms, but impressive short field performance after flying at 43,000 ft at Mach .96. Try it, you will like it!
 
There is a Bombardier Global Express out on Avsim from [FONT=verdana, sans-serif]Thinus Pretorius. I have not flown it yet, but if its close to what Bombardier touts, it should give you 6300 nm range (NYC-Tokyo). Or you could go with the Project Opensky BBJ, or BBJ2. Both give about 6200 mile range in exec. configuration.

All in all, a LONG time to be in a business jet!!!

Best part is that they are FREE.

....someday-to-be-released, in work (and rework, apparently) for the past 2+ years Lockheed Jet Star II....

I want to get my hands on that BAD BOY and do some serious repainting...it's gonna look good in VC-140 and C-140 colors!

Per factory literature, the Citation X is the world's fastest civilian jet with a top speed of 0.92 mach. It also has long legs, being able to fly just shy of 2700 nm with a full payload and a bit over 3000 nm with about a half payload. It easily outperforms the Learjet family.

I'm not sure about Learjets, but I think the Citation X is not equipped with autoland.
 
Things like the BBJ and that size have, but none of the Cessna, Piper or Bombardier bizjets have autoland.

Alternatively, there is a Global Express XRS available at flightsim.com...

Of course, I may be a little bit biased, since I coded the gauge/panel system as well as doing the detailed modeling and textures... :ernae:

I haven't uploaded to AVSIM yet simply because I'm (slowly) working on v2.0 which will include some improvements, as well as an FMS...
