for the Dawlish festival i believe,i hope to see the Vulcan at Shoreham tomorrow, she's a beauty especially when flanked by the worlds premier aerobatic team!

Vulcan flies with red arrows! (i think that's the red arrows)

Looking at the image, I certainly would not want to be the "tail-end Charlie". I suppose he is either well above or below the Vulcan's exhaust. A matter of perspective here, I think. :)

Cheers Pat! A relative had tried to see that but was just a bit late, emailing the pic now.

Fantastic !!

Thanks Clive for sharing this shot, I always loved the Vulcan, it is really a very beautiful and uncommon bird.

....... flanked by the worlds premier aerobatic team!
Excuse me for my Homeland pride but with all the respect I have for Red Arrows :applause: can I remember to all our P.A.N. Frecce Tricolori ? (BTW they are the only aerobatic team in the world who fly a 9 + 1 flight) :wavey:

Cheers :ernae: and have always good flying

I would love to see the Vulcan flying so Im quite jealous. Was hoping to see it last year at Shoreham but its display was cancelled and I couldnt make it down this year. I also missed it flying at Cosford which isnt too far from where I live. Maybe one day.... I was lucky enough to see the FW 190 at Duxford though and then had a flight in a Tigermoth later on that day. Wish I lived at Duxford..:bump:

The Vulcan has hed more than its share of problems this season, after it failed to fly at Yeovilton I was chuffed to bits that it flew over Dawlish.

I've never been to Duxford!! :( one day........

Duxford is fantastic. I've been there twice and each time, I was at the opening and my visit was not ended before the museum was closed...

Cristiano,i have seen the Frecce Tricolori on several occasions and they are truly excellent!,i particularly like when the solo pilot does "crazy flying".

Hi Pete
I have seen Frecce Tricolori countless times and I was lucky enough to saw other great aerobatic teams (first of all Red Arrows and Patrouille de France) and first of all what I feel is a great sense of joy and admiration, it doesn't matter whatever is the Team, after the show's end I am always satisfy cause it is like myself was in the cockpit of those aircrafts together with those marvelous Pilots having tasted the freedom of flight (even though in that case surely we can't speak of free flight!!).
Certainly, being italian, my heart is with our Frecce and I like the solo pilot show too and, remaining the "crazy flying" my preferred one, I appreciate also the tail slide and the "lomcovak".
Anyhow, when You see the show of a good aerobatic team You never be disappointed.

Cheers :ernae: and have always good flying

The Desert Air Force always used to admire the aerobatic abilities of their Italian rivals... On spotting the RAF, the RA pilots would start flying beautiful aerobatic manoeuvres, which while they did force the admiration of those watching, did not actually win the fighting. Poor tactics... But the Italians have always been known for being pilots with plenty of talent, flair, style and courage.

Hello Dick
It's always the same story, very good qualities but very badly exploited (not to speak of poor and insufficient equipments), I surely second your statements and I thank You for the kinds words about our pilots, BTW I have a Chris Dunning's book which I consider the bible for what concerns the operations of RA units in WW2 whose title is, appropriately, "Only courage".
However I have the utmost respect (not comprehension) for ALL who put at risk their lives in ALL the wars cause at the end they always paid on their own.
Cheers :ernae:
Cristiano
