Looking for a building . . .

I Make 'em U break 'em
I am having trouble creating a building. I built a nice big factory and tried to compile it into scenery but when you build a scenario with it it does not show up in the game. Well, it does when you are right on top of it, but you can't see it otherwise. Not only that, I can't figure out how to make it destroyable. I could probably figure it out eventually but I have to many other projects going to waste any more time on this. So, I give up . . .

Anyway . . . What I need is a big factory building of some sort that can be blown up. I want to make something that I can upload as a target with some added effects . . . So if anyone can help me out . . .

That distance at which you can see a building depends on what LOD you place it under. For example, I place a simple model under LOD_050, and the detailed model under LOD_100. The Microsoft gmax Scenery Tutorial doc describes this; if you didn't place it under a LOD, or used one that was too large; then that is why you couldn't see it until you were on top of it.

Can't help much with the exploding part; other than I am pretty sure scenery requires a damage profile just like aircraft do, and you may have to model some damaged parts if you want it to look damaged.

Bill,as you probably already know, I am just getting my feet wet with this model design thingy but if you happen to have an FSDS source file of what you have in mind, I will be happy to see what I can come up with (if anything)..
