Looking for a good T-33

Anyone know where I can find a decent Lockheed T-33 for FSX? I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

Have you tried Tim Conrad's? It's for FS9, and a rather old model, but one of the best that I know of.

I wonder if this is one that Tim might be able to update to FSX? I know some of his models (like the X-24A) were done with a tool that doesn't allow easy port-over.

Well, I have almost begged Tim for an update of this wonderful bird at several occasions, but until now it has just been ignored...

My :denmark: repaint looks great on the old model in FSX in a 2048x2048 version, and I would gladly give it to him, if he would just update the model to real FSX standards

I may be mistaken - but i recall Tim's T33 was modeled in FSDS - not Gmax, so Piglet would have to remodel the T-33 entirely for FSX.

Converting the other aircraft that had g-max source files proves to be somewhat simpler - new textures and ani's and it's done.

I saw a topic some months ago stating that Piglet's T-33 was working like a charm in FSX SP2.
There might be a canopy texture issue... but I'm not even sure.

I confirm to you that Tim Conrad's T-33 is working on FSX SP2 Accell
I have no problems at all.

I am not sure but this could be related to the fact that I use the
"FS2004 Canadian Forces T-33A Pack 1 Updated" ( cafct132.zip )
version with the non-mipmapped textures fixed.

It is really the Tim Conrad original "digital artwork" redesigned and
repainted by Shane Strong.

No problems too to add other FS9 T-33 repaints to this version.
Take a look below

ahhhhh that's perfect. Will have to look into that, thanks.

T-33 Port Over -- finally working well in FSX-A

All

The port over that I have been working on of Piglet's great T-33 is finally working well in FSX-A.
The port over is in native code. The biggest problems that I had were the landing gear animations and the panel. I am over the hump on both and hope to have a very early Christmas present for all.

I am looking to update the VC to some pixs that I have of training T-33s from the 1960's but that may be a phase 2 activity.

If you check the FSX "Skins" download area. . .the first page has 4 new liveries I did several months ago using a new paint kit and larger format textures, all dds, and I also redid the entire Interior with sharper textures.

During that time frame, Tim passed the source code off to several individuals to do with what they could as far as producing an FSX version. Given that, and his current workload, it's not something he plans on working on.

I'm glad to see that radioman has taken the code and run with it. . .most of us had no idea what to do with even after we got it.
