Looking for a light twin.

Hey all,

I recently discovered a large hole in my FS airplanes collection: light piston twins.
I am looking for:
- something small (around 6 seats)
- with two engines (no turboprops, I hate how they handle in FS)
- a nice VC, decent sounds, good FM
- not too old (produced later than say, 1970?)
- preferably freeware (although I might take out the creditcard if it's really worth it).

Thanks,

Jef

Freeware

Milton's Aero Commanders can't be beat for detail and realism. They are genuine hand flyers.

Payware

Dreamfleet Cessna 310 and Baron 58 are well done.

I think you have it nailed, the Aero Commanders are hard to beat, but Mr. Shupes Beech D18 is in the hunt too. These are the only twins I have installed, you can't beat the price...:ernae:

Older than you are looking for, but the Alpha Sim Cessna T-50 Bobcat package is nicely modeled, twin engine, non-super charged, seats 6 or so, comes in wheeled and float version. Can not say how they handle in FS2004 as I do not have FS2004, but have converted the planes for CFS2 use.

If you want a nice freeware twin you should check out Eric Dantès' Twin Bonanza.

It has a nice VC and lots of repaints.

'twin_bonanza__pour_fs2004.zip' at Avsim

'jojo.zip' also at Avsim is a slightly updated version

What about this one:

Payware, I'm very fond of the FSD Cessna 337 Skymaster. Especially the 337H with it's pressurized cabin.

Freeware, it's hard to beat Milton's Beech 18 or AeroCommanders.

LMAO :mixedsmi:. I loved flying this aircraft down in NewZealand but couldn't find any paints for her so I just changed the registration number on the enclosed German bird. :isadizzy: Too lazy to remove the flag :redf:. The aircraft is one of the better freeware small twins out there. Don't know why the Seminole has been overlooked for so long and this is the best one I've found to date. I added even more to the panel since my last post in the other thread. I purchased the RXP FLT and FLN gauges so I been swapping out stuff. I also put in an STEC autopilot that came with the FLNs.

LouP :kilroy:

Another "light" twin I like. The former payware AlphaSim F7F Tigercat.. :d

Edit: Add dcc's P-38s to that as well.

OK Willy, just to stretch the category further, I will meet your F7F/P-38 and raise the "light" twin stakes to add the Howard 500. :d

Although it may be a bit dated, the Flight1 Cessna 421C Golden Eagle may be right up your alley. As for VC functionality, it is an older FS2002 model, so it's a little less clickable.

However, the plane itself, model, and sounds are gorgeous. It also has most of what you're looking for: no turboprop, but turbocharged, nice flight model, and other goodies like full VC cabin (6 seats). :ernae:

Thank you all for the replies!

How could I have overlooked Mr. Shupe's Commanders! I already have the 18 and love it.

I'll also be sure to check out that Piper Seminole.

If this doesn't sate my thirst, I might dig out the plastic for the PA30.

Isn't there an updated twin bonanza (new textures, same great Eric Dantes model) out there?

Hey Lou which Seminole model is that?
