Looking for a TJBQ/ Ramey AFB AFCAD.

Maybe you Silver Wings folks have a good suggestion? :wiggle:
I'd like to install an AFCAD that has the 1960's parking layout (bombers) and maybe an accurate tower view.
Some flatten BGL's for the high rise towers next to the runways would also be a plus.

I've been digging around and, so far, the best I could find was some MAIW scenery for the ANG C-130's at TJSJ.

There are some AFCADs for TJBQ out there, but none of them replicate the old SAC base or are for FSX.

If your handy with AIRPORT DESIGN EDITOR, you can load up an FSX Afcad, and save as FS9 sometimes with a few small mods

Ian, what I'm doing (so far) is adding some MIL COMBAT parking to the "grid" of taxiways next to RWY 8.
I installed an FS9 AFCAD for TJBQ that I'm using as a "Guiney Pig" to back-date the scenery and add some military parking and a control tower and ground comms. :wiggle:
I found some photos of Ramey from back in the day, and there wasn't a lot of room from even back in the B-29 and B-50 days. :dizzy:
Being able to taxi a B-47 or a B-52 is going to be a white knuckle affair. :kilroy:

Im working on a 1950's version of RAF Brize Norton, and im having the same problem, trying to work out parking and to taxi a B-47 without hitting anything :dizzy:

Yep. That was my one big surprise so far.
I thought Ramey had at least a wing of B-47's back in the day.
Turned out, they only flew a couple of B-47's as "weather patrols" (ie, actual weather flights plus some recon flights over Cuba).

Ramey had full bomb wings of B-29's, B-50's, B-36's, and then B-52's. :indecisiveness:

Meanwhile, I have another missing AFB project buried deep in my list.

Plattsburgh AFB aka KPBG. :wiggle:
KPBG was another of those SAC bases which never got a "Christmas tree" for Alert bombers.
Aside from a wing of tankers, KPBG also hosted the 380th BW which flew B-47s and B-52s before they transitioned over to the FB-111 (aka McNamara's Headache).
While the FB-111 (aka F-111G) is a really fun plane to fly in FS, it had really short legs unless there were a lot of tankers available and a limited bomb load. They were also a nightmare to work on due to their complexity.

Only two wings flew the FB, The 509th (yeah, THAT 509th) BW out of Pease AFB and the 380th out of KPBG.
Living near Loring AFB, we tended to hear our share of SAC scuttlebutt and one thing I don't remember is hearing about the FB's going too far from their home bases. Red Flag, maybe, and that was about it.

Still, there was nothing as great as seeing the FB fly low with the burners lit. :wiggle:
The 380th still owes me a hundred pounds of venison. I was hunting near the IP for the old Ashland Bomb Plot (IR-800) when I happened to be looking in the right direction to see the silhouette/shadow of an FB coming at me at the speed of stink.
Now, it was supposedly illegal to break the sound barrier over land, but THIS dude was dead quiet when he flew over me which changed drastically about one second later. KABOOM and he was gone, along with all of the game within 100 acres of where I stood. :loyal:

I had something like this happen many years ago. I copied the ships from the Virtual Navy's Doolittle Raid scenery into the North Atlantic and found jetways floating in the ocean. In that case the fix was easy, since I put the ships into my classic era sim, FS2054 - A Half Century of Flight, which depicts the world as it was (or at least an approximation of it) at a time when jets and jetways hadn't been invented yet. I just searched my Add On Scenery folder for "jetway" and deleted them all. But that won't work if you have all your sceneries from all eras in one sim installation; you might need those jetways in other places. Maybe make sure the scenery with the unwanted jetways is higher in the stack than any that have jetways in them, then make an exclude file that covers the area around the scenery where you want the jetways gone.
