Looking for help :-)

For those of you who didn't catch it on my facebook page or the IRIS website over the last month or so, I seriously buggered up my right shoulder in a mountain bike accident about 7 weeks ago. I fell down a hill, went airborne and shattered my right shoulder into a bunch of pieces. (for the technical minded, look up a proximal humerus fracture.)

Good news is the surgery went well and I have two large screws in my arm, bad news is that I've got significant muscle and soft tissue damage and looking at about 6 months of hard physio before things start looking up...

I can't work at the PC as much as I used to and typing and mousework is incredibly painfull and I can manage about 10 mins at a time before the shoulder pain gets to much to handle.

As such, I'm looking at hiring help for people who are looking for contracting work to take over some of the jobs I would normally do in respect to a/c design and development.. Specifically XML coders with knowledge of the modeldef.xml file to create code for VC switches/knobs etc. 3D modellers, and/or texture artists with UVmapping expertise.. things like that.

I can provide skype training with a shared screen to talk people through stuff, but experienced people would be better because it's less for me to sit at the PC for.. :)

Anyone interested in helping out can get me on my personal e-mail of davidb76@hotmail.com.au :)

Ta...

David @ IRIS.

Very Painful Injury...I Know

David - Sorry to hear about your injury. I know how painful it is as I am just reaching the 6 month mark since my rotator cuff (and other stuff) repair surgery. Moving the shoulder joint after surgery brought tears to my eyes....and if you don't do the physical therapy, you go back into surgery for more pain!

I would offer to lend a hand, but I'm not a coder (however, I can type a little and am a good technical writer). If you could use someone with my skills, drop me a PM.

Do your physical therapy...Vince Lombardi said...'No pain, no gain.' You're looking at a lot of gain!
