Lost GPS on all planes

Charter Member
Searched this forum and could not find topic

If I try to view the GPS either using the keyboard "shift" and the related number or the pull down menu to view the GPS it does not show
Every plane I fly this happens to...

Anyone ever had this problem or got the cure?

Can't think of any addon that could of do this

Thanks
Rick

EDIT: Even planes with the GPS on the dash are not displaying

If I run the "repair" function will it fool around with all the changes I did on the FSX.CFG file?

papab,

It sounds like something happened to the gps file in your FSX\gauges folder. It is fspgps.cab. It contains both the stock GPSs. If that's gotten lost or corrupted, your only choices might be a repair or reinstall of FSX.

Thanks for your response Glenn

If I repair will it change my FSX.cfg file?
Rick

A repair will more than likely replace your FSX.cfg file so copy the one you have now to a safe place outside of FSX then copy it back after repairing.

Would it not be possible to get the CAB file off of the disk and just put it in the proper folder? Or is it compressed? I remember doing that with FS9 but I have never had to do that with FSX.
