Lost my man

Yes I know P2 is old news these days but I am sad over the loss of my (so far) best pilot. Leutnant Georg Mahlo. With many kills during this past week he lost his life tonight in quick combat. In a flight of 4 Phalz III machines he lead his group and first encountered a flight of 5 Bristol Scouts. After much manouvering to always keep his advantage Herr Mahlo brought down all 5 of the E/A. After searching the skies for further combat rather than going back to base he thought he saw some crates to the northwest. Gathering his flight together Herr Mahlo climbed as they flew to intercept the unknown craft. Aha, indeed more crumpets to be had. Having the altitude advantage our good man dove on the 5 Bristols and managed to bring down 5 more. During the heat of battle one poor brit found his crate hanging on the prop and easy meat for our hero. But, unfortunately as sometime happens Herr Mahlo had descended to far, found himself in a stall and well... he will be remembered. Thanks for reading. :engel016:

Hi, RICKITYCRATE
Yes, always, the best die young (lo!) It honours me, that he got my last name, and it impresses me, that he downed 10 planes - that was quite a good percentage of hits (around 25 % I assume), very well shot! You can look that up after battle, when you press escape. On the right edge of the menue, that appears at the left screen side, there's "Statistics" or something like. When you open that, it tells you the percentage of hits (amongst other stats).

All Sopwith planes often perform that steep pull-up, as they know, we can't do it. I have now developed a "feel for the stall to come"; and I follow them as far as possible, firing, but pull away, before she looses all ability to manoeuver.
Which time/year/date did he fly, and in which Jasta? Cause I still have to do Campaigns with Dr.1, Pfalz and D VII. Yesterday I flew the D VII against SPAD XIII with ace Nungesser. She is a real "Schweinehund" - absolutely terrifying. After two flights, I could handle her good enough, that the French Escadrille didn't have a big chance. I got lightly hit, but they all have bitten the dust. But I don't like the look of this "witch" - like a cardboard cutout.
I'll now finish late 1917, and, when I survive long enough, I'll get the Dr.1 for short, and then the Pfalz.
Phase 2 is not outdated to me yet, and I'll only start P3, when I've tried all the time periods, at least on German side, I think.
But Tuesday, I'll order P3, my budget will be balanced then, and so I can do it using Paypal. I'm a little sad, that I will have to say "Goodbye" to Phase 2 soon then, as they can't both "exist" on the same rig. P3 will be a lot harder, I'm sure, and maybe I'll sometimes wish me back into the P2 crates. But - no, we want to grow, don't we?

Cheers. Olham
