So I'm pulling my hair out because I just don't get it. I don't understand why my system can only do 28-32 FPS, no matter where I fly, and why I get stutters at full screen but not in windowed.
My system:
Nvidia settings are at stock, except for Vsync set to Adaptive (half refresh rate) to eliminate the stutters at full screen. I know that this setting on its own will cap the frame at 30, but even with Vsync off, my frame rate is still no better than 28-32.
Xplane graphic settings:
Any ideas on what is going on?
My system:
- AMD 2700X @ stock (Cpu speed on all cores is around 3950Mhz
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200Mhz
- EVGA GTX1080
- ASUS X470-Pro Mobo
- Xplane is running from a 500Gb Samsung SATA SSD
- 25” ASUS monitor at 2560x1440 at 60Hz.

Xplane graphic settings:
- textures set to High
- AA set to 2 SSAA x FXAA
- World objects set to high (reducing this gains no appreciable increases in frame rate)
- reflections set to medium (setting this to low introduces stutters)
- Aircraft model is set to 2
- A/I traffic is set to none
