Great new airship popped up over at Flightsim this morning. It has some of the best vc and interior modelling y'all ever find. But what else would you expect from George Diemer?

FS2004 Goodyear K-Class Blimp NEAM Restoration. K-Class blimps were used by US Navy in WWII to protect shipping convoys from U-boat attacks. Blimp car K-28 is being restored at New England Air Museum to WWII spec, minus large helium envelope. FSDS 3.5 model approximates current state of NEAM restoration, which is 85% complete. VC includes complete model, with 8 interior views. Also can be flown in FSX, with 8 camera views. Top speed 68 mph, can be flown as slowly as 4 mph. FS flap control allows toggling between fast and slow flight modes. Includes pdf file explaining controls. By George Diemer.

Really nice VC modelling. You can explore the whole cabin, sit in every crew station. You can even climb up into the gunner/observer station above the pilots. There's even bunks and a privvy for those long missions. Love that backup com system.

It seems pretty easy to fly, fairly airplane-like.

I love it! Looks fantastic and flies beautifully. George Diemer never ceases to amaze me.:jump:

Ever vigilant Phil! Thanks buddy for the HU.

This would also make interesting traffic.

I'm not usually a fan of blimps in FS, but this one is great. Kudos to George Diemer for an amazing model that's very easy to fly. The VC cockpit & cabin must've been a b&$#@h to model!...with all those spars and rigging. Great job!

Done a fantastic job on this historical blimp. Handles very nice too.

Much fun manuevering with wind and gusts added and cruises at a good clip for x-country.

Thanks Mr.Diemer for this well done masterpiece!

They can be very tricky to fly. Its not only winds and thermals you have to watch for, but when you go in and out of the clouds, the bag shrinks and down you go or the reverse is true, the sun suddenly hits it, the bag expands and up you go. That's why they're always painted silver to reflect the sun's heating effects.

You know me -- never turn down a chabce to brighten the path.

He's even got the plotting alidades outside the windows of the gondola. George rules! :applause:

Just saw this! Working Driftmeters . Work good too. Pretty cool instrument.

Found this in the readme of the new k blimp up at flightsim.

=Drift Meters
There are working drift meters on each side of the car, just behind the cockpit. If the blimp is drifting due to crosswinds, you can rotate one of the drift meters to align with the motion along the ground, and read the drift angle.
You need to position yourself in the VC above and behind the drift meter to do so. Here are the commands:
FS9 Virtual Cockpit How To Move About:
-- Ctrl-Enter to move aft
-- Ctrl-Backspace to move forward
-- Shift-Enter to move up
-- Shift-Backspace to move down
-- Ctrl-Shift-Enter to move right
-- Ctrl-Shift-Backspace to move left
