Luftwaffe bombers in the Blitz

Interesting that AFAIK, the Luftwaffe bombers used in the Blitz do not have any updated versions; even looking at Clive's BoB they still seem to be old versions made many moons ago. Foutemann made a lot of stand alones for the Ju 88, Do17, and He111 but aren't they all based off old models? The reason I ask is that I am looking into the Luftwaffe side of the Blitz from after the BoB and also the nascent RAF night fighter efforts.
 
217 entered service in early 1941 and by the beginning of 1942 was available in significant numbers. I have yet to check when the Do 17 was replaced in the units operating in the Blitz Nov 1940 - May 1941. The Ju88 may have replaced them first.
 
Ju 88s mostly replaced them, still a few 17s through most of 1941, especially in Coastal units. I don't think the 217 was operational prior to Barbarossa, but there were definitely some along the channel front by the end of the year.
 
I guess though that all our Luftwaffe Blitz era ac haven't been upgraded since10+ years ago?
EDIT:
Looking at the He111 s they are CFS2 conversions B grade quality. I don't think we ever got an updated He111; not sure about payware?
EDIT: The Desert Rats versions are newer?

I use the H6 version of the He111 a lot in my MAW campaigns - certainly the skin is updated versus the original skins. Don't know about the cockpit files but couldn't new texture sheets be used for the cockpit gauges?

Sounds like you need a number of new skins!
 
Yeah, I think everything is pre-MAW vintage, with a few new skins done for MAW, but I think the models were unchanged. There was a payware 111 with the BoB add-on, but the GC ones are better in every respect IMO. I'd love to see some of the later Heinkels as well, like the H-16.
 
I have a part done texture template on my hd somewhere for the gc 111, if you bare with me I could complete it, and at least bring the texture up to date, I doubt the model will be updated though? The main mesh is very good for it's age, it's just let down by the vc model!

Also we need some good stuff for 'Cat's eyes" Cunningham to shoot down in your reworked Beaufighter Mk 1 NF!:jump: I have emailed Rob re VC's but ideally it's time for the old GC He111's to be updated. Re Ju88's, haven't they been reworked already or did you only do the NJ versions?? Do17's?

I agree that the HE 111, although Mathias did an excellent job it maybe time for a redo. As far as Ju88's only the NJ versions were revised. I have a nice A4 that needs completing. Do17's aren't they around? Hey you do google hangouts or facetime?
