Newtown Park (aka Lymington ALG)
A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Scenery
Description: Here's another of my AFCAD / EZ scenery productions;
This is Newtown Park private airstrip at Lymington, Hampshire UK; was originally opened as an Advanced Landing Ground prior to D-DAY; the residents being
P47 Thunderbolts of 50th FG 9th AF, USAAF , latterly the site was bought and restored with the 1 remaining Blister hangar being used by the owner ;the late Charles Burnett III of Newtown Park house ( a heir to Selfridges) ; to store his military vehicle collection .. the Stalwart is there in real life but a little sad after being set on fire by vandals . The airstrip was also used for ww2 themed fly ins and gatherings to show off the military vehicle collection; if you search the web there's a photo of a Hurricane parked outside the blister hangar.
I've included the ww2 site plans if anyone wants to expand on it ; feel free
