Lyon's Scenery Question

OBIO

I have installed two of Bill Lyons aircraft packages (Grumman Goose and some super sharp little twin engine job in wheeled and float versions...the one with the bird that flies around the wing and the turtle/dog depending on if the plane is on the water or land)...anyhoo, these two packages added scenery and flights to FS2004....very nice scenery. But, I have no clue as to how to find it for use outside of the flights. I would love to take off from the Minnesota farm in a Jenny and fly around the Minnesota farm lands....but have no clue as to what the little farm run way is called.

Are these scenery and strips usable outside of the planned flights? How can I find them in the scenery/airport selection window?

I love that farm..

Go to map mode and find your local airport. Also, you 'should' have an airport call sign at the airport, but if not, you'll just need to save a flight their in the plane of choice, etc, in order to start from that point if no airport code exists..

The Lyons Farm is not listed, so you either use the provided Flights as a start (then change aircraft/weather etc.). Save the flight as Lionheart mentioned or start at Helgeson--KTWM, and fly the 5 miles south to the farm.

I created a simple "start" at the farm with AFCAD so I can do just what you have mentioned. That way I can start at the farm and it can be found in the airports list. Mine is listed under Lyons Farm--LYN1--Two Harbors, Minnesota and is on the map/gps/and FSNav.

You are more than welcome to use it. Just place the bgl in the "...Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\scenery" folder or in any scenery folder of any active scenery you have.
*note: change the filename from AF2_LYN1.bgl.txt to AF2_LYN1.bgl before installing.

EDIT: oops! gave you my old bgl, new one with parking facing the rwy.

Thanks for the AFCAD, dogknot! Made my day!
Bill Lyons PA-23 is my favorite all-around package by The Lyons - I love every bit of it! But not being able to start a flight from the farm scenery made things somewhat unpleasant, I must admit!

To OBIO - you must install ALL of The Lyons work, even the stuff for FS2002. Otherwise, you are missing out on more than you can possibly know.

Okay....

I put up the correct AFCAD bgl now in my last post. Enjoy. Tweak to your own desires.
