MAC and Lufthansa liveries for CBFSim's DH-114 Heron

Hi there

Just finished repaints for the CBFSim de Havilland DH-114 Heron Srs 2 (FS2004), featuring the Heron 2B PH-VLA of Martin's Air Charter (better known as Martinair). PH-VLA flew only just over one year in MAC's colours. After having been acquired in January 1962 the Heron flew a daily service (except Sundays) Paris-Geneva-Zurich-Frankfurt for the European branch of the New York Herald Tribune, delivering 2,100 lbs of newspapers. After one year this service came to an end due to a strike that hit the American newspaper industry. During the harsh Winter of 1962/63 PH-VLA, along with some other small aircraft transported passengers and cargo to and from the wee Duch island of Ameland which was isolated because of the frozen sea. On the 1st of April 1963 PH-VLA was, together with Dakota PH-MAA, leased to Lufthansa for passenger services from Frankfurt/Main to Stuttgart vice versa, where since the main runway was temporarily closed because of extension work, only a 5,000 ft grass strip and a 3,500 ft runway could be used. Already on the 1st of May 1963 a tractor collided with the Heron which was parked at Frankfurt, causing a nosewheel-collapse. Having sustained considerable damage, PH-VLA was written from use and sold to England.
The repaints will be uploaded one of these days in one package at Avsim.com, FlightSim.com, Sim-Outhouse.com and (when back on line) BritSim.com only. They have been tested in FS2004 only, but they may be working on the FSX version of the CBFSim DH-114 Heron Srs 2 also.

Cheers,
Maarten

You're very welcome, chaps! It has been a great pleasure producing these repaints and making them available for fellow flightsimmers.

Cheers,
Maarten

Hi,
I thought I had been downloading some paints for the Mark 1 and just utilising them in the Mark 2, seemingly without problem...but when I tried to load a BEA 'original' paint from the original Download into the Mark 2 folder it worked OK but still had it's undercarriage. Is there something I should be changing?
Cheers,
Andy.

Just my carelessness.. everything fine now:dizzy:

Andy.

LOL! I thought: Before I'll spend time blood sweat and tears over a question I just couldn't quite understand , I'd better see and wait what happens in the next few hours. And.... lo and behold! :)

Cheers,
Maarten :guinness:

Hi

I like the aircraft to have a raising undercarriage, so that means Series 2,:jump: and they 'convert' straight over with a couple of tiny changes in the cfg!

Andy.
