Brilliant. Very impressive knowing it´s not CGI. What would insurance companies think about that nowadays...
 
probably revealing what an old codger I am but I recall an atricle when the film came out that showed how they flew the Beech through the billboard. They constructed the frame with a small amount of clearence all around and made a lightly constructed panel to cover it. They painted a large "X" on the back at dead center and it was the pilot's(Paul Mantz IIRC) job to put the nose on the X. You see the results on screen
