I'm sure I'm probably the only one who has ever done this, but when you install these Military AI packages, make sure you read the part about "Installations Included in this package" and then HEED the warning about removing any duplicate AFCAD files and then storing them someplace else rather than deleting them (insert the quote from above here).. . . .however, you should not need them again as the AFCADs included in this package are thoroughly researched and highly detailed. . .
I did neither and now weeks and weeks of fine tuning a custom afcad for NAS Ft Worth is gone and that "thoroughly researched and highly detailed" AFCAD that was installed is so far off it isn't funny. The part about saving the original is my fault no doubt, but after placing a google image of KNFW under the MAIW AFCAD I can tell you it wasn't researched beyond making sure it "looked" like the base layout. What I did discover is if I squeezed the image in to distort it, things actually fit better.
Enough said. Be warned that if you have custom scenery that you've done for military bases around the US or overseas, save the AFCAD and exclude files somewhere safe then install the MAIW files and see what you think first. I downloaded a lot of these packages over the weekend and luckily, NAS Ft Worth is the only one I did anything custom to and I can remake it as all I have to do now is redo the AFCAD to match the "actual base layout and the scenery I've already placed (the entire base).
Lastly, MAIW is a great group. . .they do a great service to all of us with the time and effort they put into every package to include AFCADS, AI Traffic and even custom scenery in many cases and I appreciate that very much, I'm just saying don't go brain dead during the installation, before you do anything save any files that may be affected by these packages beforehand. In other words, "read before you install".
