So now ETO in up and running and there is a folder for ETO in MYDOCS and APPDATA, however, I copied my xca. file for control assignments from PTO to ETO, but it won't take. It defaults back to the original CFS3 assignments. When I try to start a new control assignment from scratch, everything freezes and I have to exit the game.....thoughts? I'm gonna owe you guys a lot of beer.......

Hi flamingskull :wavey:,
I think you will have files in both app data and root PTO that will need to be copied over if you want to go that way. Not sure about this but its what I would look at first.

Edit - because I am not on my cfs3 comp, I can't be more specific unfortunately

Hi

Here is a post I made from Win7 Install fix thread Not sure if it the same issue but on this systemn it seemed that it had locked up. Have a read and check back in

Cheers

"OK so I was working on a box today. Standard sort of hardware setup nothing odd Windows 7 Media. Clean install all patched up and current drivers. I installed CFS3 clean, ran the game and then the updates. Ran the config file.

Here is the funny thing. I went to customize the joystick setup. Logitech extreme 3D pro. I went into controllers in CFS3 and created a new profile. Then I scrolled to zoom out and double clicked on it. I selected button 4. As soon as I did that I lost click function on the mouse. At first I thought the computer had locked but then I realized that the mouse cursor was moving OK and the video in the back ground was still moving. It would not let me click OK to finish the task

I went to task manager and checked and the game was still running OK. I went back to the setup screen and realized I could use the tab button to highlight the OK option and then hit enter on the keyboard to select.

I tried rebooting, changed KB/Mouse from USB to PS2 but the same thing kept happening I ended up configuring the rest of the buttons by using tab and hitting enter

I have installed CFS3 on many machines and never run into this before. I thought I would post it in case some one else has this happen and thinks the machine is locked up."

This is a Windows 7 install? There's a copy of uisel in the games's program folder, so any changes which affect that will fall foul of the general Win7 protection system. Try turning the UAC off.

After copying and pasting your custom .xca to your other theater app/data folder you still have to select the new .xca while in the game. Otherwise the default .xca will be selected. Top right hand corner>Options>left click>select control options>select configuration>select your custom control *.xca.

Got my control assignments set up to my liking, but it wasn't easy! I deleted the xca files and made a new config, but each time I wanted to select a button on the stick I had to tab to select ok, and press enter, the mouse wouldn't work. Quirky bastard this CFS!
