Manfred's C-47 (P3D2)

Beautiful !
By the way, are you aware of the newest version (3.0) of the freeware autogen for Corsica ?

I'm grabbing F-BMPL version 3 as I type, also the supported files too.

Also another site called Autogen Factory that may do Corse with 3d vegetation. AF has done a few France VFR area already... looks very good.

Indeed, but it seems to me that the Autogen Factory includes only the vegetation, and not any building ?
The freeware autogen version 3.0 is quite nice, extremely dense in some areas. Some areas however lack some autogen, but this is being fixed.
You might want to take a look at this topic on the French forum:

This is a package including all the airports for Corsica, as well as other scenery improvements. The screenshots inside are making me droll :dizzy:
Package should be available somewhere in July. I can't wait.

PS: in case you are using any OrbX product (region or Global), remember to set the FTX Central to "P3D Default" before installing any autogen-related stuff !!

PS2: don't forget to download the latest version of the Solenzara airbase scenery ! It's now my main base for testing all my planes :)

That is true vegetation only. That site only does vegetation if you have other France VFR scenery will be good.

Don't have those, just NCA.

Hey Daube... all I got to say is my favorite scenery is now even more beautiful thanks to Filipo and others! I saw a little private strip will flying north leaving Solenzara AB that I may make my home for the Stearman.

Snapped a pic from the Herc as I was leaving Solenzara AB (FSX).

Cool shot !!
A private strip north of Solenzara ? I haven't noticed it yet... I will take a closer look during my next flight there.

Did you see the amount of details in the big square hangars ? The fans of the ventilation cases on the back walls are turning ! I don't know if this is a generic hangar used in other sceneries as well, or if it is a custom object specific to Solenzara, but this is seriously cool.
Also, the P3D dynamic shadows make everything look better. I posted this screenshot in the screens topic, this is the Sludge Hornet parked into one of the small hangars:

The same shot in FSX won't look as good, for sure.
I love rolling out of these, and seeing the shadow limit slowly rolling over my wings and cockpit.

Yes... P3D is so much better. I've ran out of hdd space, so time to install another hdd just for P3D. I have one FS9/FSX project to finish, so that has to stay for a little bit longer otherwise I would have plenty of space available.

Followed the links to the site but unable to find the download link as I could not read whatever language it is written in.

Beautiful !
By the way, are you aware of the newest version (3.0) of the freeware autogen for Corsica ?

Where in FSX is this file copied to? (Autogen_Corse_31.rar?)
There is only a texture file in it.

The base...

At the bottom FSX box click on Téléchargez

Zara_X (The base) goes to the Addon scenery as far as I can tell, what Airport ID code do I use?

Does it make any difference which of these two files I install first?
Thanks

As far as the Zara_X (LFKS) base, When I unpacked it, I see many other folders other then the Zara_X base. Where do these files go?
See attached pickure

attachment.php

The zara_x (Small letters) I put into my Addon on scenery folder, There is a FSX stock LFKX scenery and at first, I thought I had the correct scenery. To my chagrin, when I added the
zara_x, I did not have a clue as to what Airport ID to use, After installing this zara_x, I tried for the LFKS again and saw that I was on the main runway with no buildings in view till I
made a helo take off to explore the base and then I noticed that there were some hangers and other nice detail coming into view.

My concern now is what to do/where to put the other folders that came with this base?

The main Autogen 3.1 is loaded with .agn files, where do I put all that stuff?

No directions per se (English) so I had to play "Guess where" for the airport installation.
The autogen scenery is another matter I would appreciate some direction on where in FSX does this go.

Thanks.

I found this link interesting concerning agn files

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/are-agn-files-location-or-scenery-specfic.110940/

GE,

in the autogen 3.1 archive is a folder (not a file) called texture. Here the *.agn (autogen annotation) files reside.
These agn file go into the \texture\ folder that accompanies the \scenery\ folder where the photoreal BGL files for corsica are located.

Cheers,
Mark

As Mark said, the autogen for Corsica should be installed on top of a photoscenery addon covering the Corsica island.
I am using the payware FranceVFR Corsica, which has no autogen at all. As a consequence, the folder containing the Corsica scenery only has a "\scenery\" subfolder inside, with only .BGL files in it.
This autogen archive contains the corresponding "\texture\" folder, which should simply be dragged and dropped into the Corisca folder.

Concerning the ZaraX archive, it contains three kind of elements:
- the zara_x folder goes into your addon scenery folder, and should be declared in your scenery library (just like any addon scenery)
- the various folders with aircraft names are just replacement files for some AI aircrafts that you might have not downloaded yet.
- the traffic folder contains a few .BGL files to drop into your Scenery\World\scenery\ folder, to create some AI traffic for the base. But you will surely need to download and install the corresponding AI aircrafts first (and then install on top of these the files described above).

I have not installed the AI aircrafts yet.

Mark,

Sorry to be a little slow in comprehension but, I had installed just the zara files in my addon scenery and declared them in FSX. Needless to say, when I dialed in the zara airport, there were
a few building where there were trees around them with no paved roads leading to and from them. With just the zara installed, (LFKS) I could see some of the hangers and other objects.
Now, as far as the agn files go, I got the impression to add all the agn files in the autogen texture folder to the texture folder of LFKS base. Well, I did that after I had FSX remove the base
from the scenery and then re-declared it. I then saw trees on some of the tarmac areas and figured I messed that up. So now, at this point, I am trying to understand what you said about
where to put those agn files. I figure that I must of put these agn files in the wrong place as the results were not what I think are the desired results.
Could you please amplify the directions on where to put the agn files. I can't put them in the LFKS folder; that didn't work.
