Many thanks IRIS

For the new freeware. I really don't know how long your P-40 series has been freeware, but I would like to thank you much for that offering and the Paint Kit included. I fly her last night (head stuffed with a cold right now, up early) and she's grand. I took the liberty of making a new propblur for the series, attached in .zip below for others that have the IRIS P-40 series.

Haven't tried the jets, not too good with jets, don't you know?:icon_lol:

For a better prop blur that will not remain static at set rpms, add the following line to the aircraft.cfg below ui_variation=??? for each entry

prop_anim_ratio=1.025

Caz

First frame is my new blur, second is the IRIS default, .zip contains my new prop blur, it must be added to each aircraft in each series. Best way is to add it to one, then copy it once added. Then paste it into each other texture folder and overwrite the existing prop texture. Many thanks again IRIS, the P-40 has always been one of my favorite aircraft and this example is as good as it gets for venerable old FS2004.

Your new prop blur looks great, Cazzie!

Lacking BananaBob's 3-bladed prop, I tweaked his two-blader, but the result was a little out-centered...

May I include your new prop to my further repaints (full credited, of course!)?

Cheers,
Markus.

Sure you can Markus, you know it.

The default prop blur was a touch out of kilter also, made me dizzy! :isadizzy:

It has to be added to all textures and for best effect, use the added

prop_anim_ratio=1.025

in the aircraft.cfg for all entries. I do this because many times at a set rpm for cruise, the prop blur will look like it is static, stopped in one place and not spinning at all. Adding a little to the prop animation ratio will keep it spinning all the times.

:ernae:

Caz

you beat me to making a propdisk :icon_lol: oh well i'll plod on with mine... once i get Me323 paintkit, and an RF-4 Paintkit done for a friend...

While updating the props (thanks Caz) I notice the E and N version props rotate backward requiring a change to rotation = -1. Must have been reversed in some of the models ???

I have not paid attention to that in the sim and did not notice that when I added the prop animation ratio Terry, but a good thing to know and an easy correct in the cfg. should I need to.

Thanks,
Caz
