Ive been roaming through, exploring the various modes of Map in X-Plane.
You have about 5 versions, with the primary being a photo real looking map of the area on Earth you are at. Second is a AirChart looking map in colors that they are usually printed in (very cool).
Then.. You go to 3D mode and rotate and change the angle of your view of the area. Great for mountain runs.
Then.... (yes... ) You can also turn on all the various object views, like high alt. objects, etc. But what I found really cool was showing of Radials. If you click on an airport or VOR station, you get the radials, and on the top right, your radial angle to that station will be displayed.
The only thing I didnt like is that my map only renders to so far away. I needed a VOR that was down by Durango and I couldnt get that area to show on my map to set my next VOR leg.
I wonder if there is a way to manually enter these? Surely there is..
