The Japanese first attack hit TG 58.7 which were 7 fast Battleships. The USN put all their fast Battleships in 1 TG to concentrate their AA fire. The way they were setup the Japanese had to fly over them to get to the Carrier TG's.

Nice to see this all coming together ... the late war actions are something to look forward to. Thanks a big bunch!:kilroy:

Talon good job. I am almost finished with the Guadalcanal missions.Infact I am on the next to the last one. the last one is a flight from cactus to Button. With you covering the war the way you are and others covering othe areas of the war it will soon be time to take it easy and just fly.Again way to go, great job ,looking foward to the missions when they are finished.

Just remembered somthing, One of the men that flew with VF-5 at Guadalcanal also flew in the battle you are working on, his name was LT. Stover. He flew about 50 mission total on guadalcanal and later was assigned to carrier duity as an FDO,he did how ever fly in this battle. I think there were 26 US pilots lost durring this battle, he was one of them.I have 2 pics of him one is with VF-5 and the other is a self pic he took while he was flying CAP.If you are interested let me know and I put them up.

Bob,

I wish I could say I was almost finished.I have over 50 missions done with about 30 more to go.When Finished this should cover most of the Carrier ops in 1944.

Bill,

It's not easy doing Carrier ops later in the war,for example in the Marianas there were 5 TG's of 25 ships or more. Not the easiest of tasks. This is one of the reasons everything takes so long.

I absolutely agree ... on all counts. I think you could freeze up a Cray if you put all the ships and aircraft together at one time!

Knowing the difficulties involved ... I gotta' take my hat off to you ... A BIG THANKS!!!:salute:

This will probably be my last Campaign unless others start doing work on missions and Campaigns besides Rami,Shadow wolf and Skylark. There is alot out there to do missions.especially New Guinea.I know you say "Well Rami will do it" but he can't do everything.I think it's about time others helped out a bit.If you don't want to help out don't complain if you don't get what you want and also the sim will die a slow death.

Rami started a contest months ago for new mission builders and only 1 person took him up on it.

Even when Rami did a reworked DOA nobody made any comments about wheather they enjoyed it or how good it was.Remember you people begged for the rework for at least 2 years. What does that tell you?It tells me you took it for granted as you have for most missions and campaigns over the last couple of years.A new plane, ship or scenery comes along and you rave about it.Well doing the missions and reworks are no picnic. It takes alot of time and effort to do them also.Show some appreciation and let him know what you think of his work.

I've been around along time ( since 2000 or 2001 ) and those that know me,which is quite a few oldtimers here, know I speak my mind about things.

Talon, don`t forget I did over 180 USN bases as well as flight training missions. I have scenery and three missions done for the battle of Midway. The first is the 108 plane raid on Midway. In this mission I have all the aircraft involved. As for the training mission and scenery no one ever said anything about them not one thing.I am like you it would be nice to find out how I did.I am going to keep doing missions as long as I can and if I think they are good enough I will upload them.I figure I did a good job because no one said I didn`t.I also figure that once someone DLs missions or scenery and gets everything to work it is like going to the bathroom, It`s a personal thing LOL. Don`t let no comment about the work you do stop you from doing what you enjoy doing and it sure is nice for you and everyone else to share there work with all of us even if nothing is said.
