Marquessa, one of our many cats....

Marquessa is one of our 33 cats (yes, you read that right). We used to be in pet rescue, and sorta ended up with them all. Love them all, but Marquessa is a strange one.

Half of our cats are "outside" pets. Oh, they get put up at night in their own little house, to keep them safe from other wild creatures, i.e. coyotes. Marquessa used to be amongst the outside kitties, but they all fought with her. You see, she is kinda different. Hard to explain, but something about her upsets the other cats. Not long ago, another stray showed up. We named her "Gabby", and she shares our kitchen with Marquessa. Well, Marquess isn't too thrilled about this arrangement, and several times a day, she goes after Gabby, and the fur flies.

Honestly, I can't help but love strange little Marquessa, but she drives me nuts!!!

33 cats. thats alot of cat food for all those cats. have you got dogs to?

Chief was raised with them since becoming part of our family at 5 weeks old. The cats love him, and he cleans their ears.... Sometimes they sleep on his bed with him. Here's some more pictures. My wife loves to take them. The orange tabby with Chief is named "Robert Tail" (He's a Bob tail, get it?). Robert Tail went with Chief to the vet for his first visit. They really became close friends. Mountain Dew, or "Dew" for short, is the black and white tuxedo. He is our oldest, and the #1....sort of the patriarch. The Seal Point Siamese (then just a kitten) is named "Twist". He is the only pedigree cat we have. I lost a Siamese back around 2000, named Armand, and I just love their personalities.

Now that's a cathouse if I ever heard of one NC. ;) :costumes: You and the wife are lucky they all get along so well.... Chief included. Hat's off to you both cause that's a lotta poop to clean up. :applause:

We've got 2 cats here. One is part Siamese and whatever and loveable as all get out. The other is a schiziod that hides all day and might come out at night to see what's up. Move and she's gone like greased lightning back to her lair in the cellar. It took us 2 years just to be able to get close to her, and another year to pet her. Since we've moved into this house last year, she's just beginning to come up stairs.

You're not kidding it's a lot of poop. 6 litter boxes in our house, and 2 more in the outside cat's house. Then there's the food, cat & dog hair/dust.......; and last but not least, vet bills.

Here's some small pictures of the outside cat's house, and the inside.

We still miss our old tomcat Frosty. His life style was basically brief periods of activity followed by lengthy periods of sleep, with eating scheduled in as required. Throw him a bottle cap and he'd play hockey in the kitchen for an hour. :icon_lol:

Our outside cat's house is a quick-built Home Depot building. They put it up, and then we insulated/paneled it. Plus had water/electricity run to it from our house. Also installed a wall-mounted LP heater, which thankfully doesn't use much. But I drew the line at aircond. Our electric bill is bad enough!!

NC, that's the greatest cat('s)house I ever seen [and the only one I might add... LOL]. If I die I wanna come back as a cat and be one of yours. :costumes: Great home for them.

Each evening, at dusk, my wife (her name is Cat...) grabs up the plastic bowls for the outside cats, and whistles for them. They all come running. From our kitchen window, she looks like the "Pied Piper", with all the kitties running after her. There's always a couple cats who balk at coming in, and we have to go physically pick them up. They sure do have us trained.

On the front of the cat house, on the porch, there is a sliding door. I lift that up, and out they come, through the flap!
