If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

the Martin Mars water bomber ( no i cant call it an airtanker or retardant tanker)will be on a show called "Heavy Metal Task Force" on SCIHD..well reg science channel as well,on friday night 7pm pst or 10 pm est...i saw the ad for it and they have some good shots.flying shots.
talked about this plane for years..but ive forgottewn..i know it was a clipper..but whick one was it? Hawaiian clipper?

The Mars was a Navy seaplane and the first one flew in 1941. There was 20 ordered but they only delivered 7 PB2M. They never served as a "Clipper" although the were given names, I can remember "Hawaiian Mars".

It sounds to me like when the two remaining aircraft are retired, one will go to the Martin Museum in Baltimore and the other will stay at an Aerial Fire Fighting Museum at Sproat Lake.
