I don't know if you are aware; the current SGU software (Multiple Screen Game Modification Utility) is currently at version 2.10.
A wide scalar of game profiles is updated in this latest version, including FSX (and FSX acceleration; separate entry).
One of the updated features is the cockpit (dvc) view. You are now able to zoom out far more then you are used to.
This gives a better all around situation awareness (including in the cockpit).
There are more features, but those you have to find out yourself @ their website or in the readme of the installation pack. (Edit: don't forget to let the SGU program update your cfg file (one of the options in the right side of the SGU program window))
Most likely this is old news but for those not aware (i was not aware of the update).........
