I have CFS3 installed, I am also using ETO and OFF. Can I install MAW or is there going to be a problem?

As long as you have a fully patched, but otherwise unmodified, version of CFS3 on your machine you can certainly install MAW.

Hi Grumpy123

Not only You can install MAW but You MUST install MAW.....how do You live without it untill now ? lol

Cheers :ernae: and have always good flying (in MAW of course)

Please note though that it must be installed as a separate install on a clean CFS3; not on top of another.

No problems, keep your CFS3 clean. I run OFF2/MAW/ETO/Korea/Solomoms without any problems.
Read the instructions before installing.

same as Cristiano : MAW IS A MUST !
and like him (I suppose) I still hope MAW2.0 to come !

I never lost hope in a MAW Phase 2 and I think that sooner or later something will move in that direction......if only someone could put his hands on the map to complete it.

Cheers :ernae: and have always good flying

The map for MAW is as big as CFS will allow; it isn't possible to make it any bigger.

As Chapter 2 is basically a question of adding appropriate aircraft, appropriately decorated - many of these already exist - and then knocking out the missions and campaigns, then there is very little in fact to stop the public in general making a start on it. I do not believe that the Deserts Rats will be releasing Chapter 2, if only because a great many of us have moved on to other things.

Hi Nigel

When I spoke of completing MAW's map I didn't refer to the size of the map but to the various things missing in it, such as rivers, lakes and routes.
My friend Zipo (MAW-Superaereo webmaster and MAW a/c modeller) try to make a pseudo campaign to be flown on line by our group and as long as we flew in North Africa it was possible but when we passed to the balcan front we found that rivers and lakes were missed at all and there were only the very big routes and raylway's line.
If You think that many of the battles fought on that front between Italians and Greeks were for the possession of bridges (Klisura) or for the crossing of rivers (Kalamas) You realize that there were very little chances to make an historical recreation of that campaign.
The same thing apply to Italy and for example to recreate "Operation Strangle" it is not possible as it was aimed at the destruction of the supply lines of the axis forces and so the main targets were again bridges, railways and so on.
This is absolutely not to negate the tremendous efforts that DR Team put in the making of MAW, I am a covinced MAW lover and a DR Team fan but unfortunately I think that in this way their efforts will be wasted and for me it is a pity.
At this moment, I know, there is already a big project regarding CFS3 in the form of ETO-E, a very marvelous project, that need all the possible resources and for me it is OK that all the talentous people of this community give their best for that but.....if You say that many things were already made for MAW P2, I can always hope that when waters will be more calm something should come to the surface......hope is the last to die.

Cheers :ernae: and have always good flying

I'm in the same boat with Cristiano. I guess our nationalities make us a bit biased in wanting a better and more complete MAW. However, one can not forget that it was a gift and what a gift it was.

I personally can not contribute much but I hope the Desert Rats will reassemble sometime in the future and complete this marvellous project.
