The Luftwaffe lost a lot of 109s to this phenomenon. Ground-crews used to stand by the strip, even, and bet between themselves about the performance of the inexperienced pilots! The 109 was perhaps the nastiest aircraft of WW2 as far as taking-off and landing was concerned, precisely because of torque effects and the very narrow undercart. If you don't have rudder pedals or controls on your joystick, it can make your virtual life very complicated...
At least it shows that the flight model is spot-on!
