    The Staff of SOH

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Maybe these people have a job for the ACES staff.

Forget that! I have enough trouble keeping my planes in the air...don't need bird strikes adding to all the reasons my planes turn into potato plows.

Was neat though.

Good video.

Goodness.. It happens that fast.

From that point in the air, surrounded by nothing but city and buildings, that Hudson looked like one nice looking runway.

Thanks Caz for the heads up.

That video should be shown just before the emergency procedures briefing given by the Cabin Crew. Show all those folks who think there will be plenty of time to read the card later just how fast it can all happen. :)

Great video.

I remember when during beta people were talking about bird strikes... thought they were so uncommon... guess not thinking that now.

For as many times as I've flown, I've never considered anything like that ever happening. It did happen VERY fast. Imagine, Oh my. That flight was fortunate they had the Hudson as an option. WOW

You know.. I think that might have been X-Plane that they filmed with. The buildings art and the sky looked very 'XP9' ish... Also, the spot-plane-view-mode was very XP9-ish..

nope they used there own program according to their website, and it'll all be keyframed animation, basicly its just a movie :engel016:

I liked it, but it wasn't a very good simulation or recreation. They had the jet moving at 1,000KIAS for a while, and the sound wasn't synced. It was more just a good visualization for me.
