Would this be the one that lost hydraulic power and approached using engine power but caught a wing on landing ? - A dc-10 ???

yup it's old news. I just haven't seen anyone ever talk about it.

NO, it's not the one that crashed because of a hydraulic loss. This is just another MD-11 crash in bad weather due to a roll over.
