MD-11 Released - And It Ain't Cheap!

Tom, I cannot get into tube liners for any reason. I don't think I ever flew any in FS9 or FSX even.

Say what?? 68,97€?

The words that come to mind are "highway robbery" or "stand and deliver"...

That's an interesting price for an aircraft that I don't want in the first place...
I'm with Cazzie on this, although I did paint a few...

I am with you Caz. I have no interest. I purchased the DC-6 and flew it on very short flights only a few times. After having to reinstall MSFS, I haven't bothered to install the DC6. The DC-6 has nostalgia for me. Modern glass cockpit airliners do not.

I enjoyed the tubes in FS9, but only because their systems were completely dumbed down so that it didn't take 45 minutes just to get rolling. With no APU, even the 747 used electric starters, which of course, is completely unrealistic, but it was still fun to fly something that you had to think ahead to keep from getting stuck way behind the 8 ball on approach. The heavies weren't like the Extra. In the big ones, you crank the stick/yoke, and the plane takes a moment to think about it before reacting. I miss that, but not enough to try to learn how to program an FMC.

(Maybe the new Spruce Goose will scratch that itch, but I'm waiting 'til tomorrow to run my update.)

I like flying them, but I like flying them. I really don't get the guys who like spending a half-hour programming the FMS during a cold-and-dark start and then doing a three-hour autopilot flight with a CAT 3 landing, :) Glad the sim accommodates them, but also glad I can start on the runway and just fly the damn thing

I am one of those who love to start any aircraft cold & Dark.

The MD-11 is a lot less expensive than the Leonardo MD-80.

But for now my time will be devoted to the Aeroplane Heaven DC-3 ;)
