http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=83ModelConverterX is a tool that allows you to convert objects between different formats. For example from SCASM API or COLLADA DAE to FSX MDL object. The tool can also be used as a model viewer and to do simple editing on objects.
Try out Arno's marvelous ModelConverterX:

Arno is continuously updating this veritable Swiss Army Knife utility. It is now capable of reading FS2002, FS2004 and FSX models, displaying liveries in hi-res, convert to multiple formats, etc.
Is there anything like a support forum for ModelConverterX ?
I looked for one but didn't see it.
My development computer got hit with a virus a few months back. The local computer repair shop wiped the HD clean and re-installed WindowsXP with SP2. I've tried to run ModelConverterX, and all I get is an error window saying "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the application"
I can run ModelConverterX on my Win7 laptop, but when I load a MDL file, the model is displayed as a jumbled mass of parts.
I'm sure it's just a misplaced file or unchecked box in some option setting.
Thanks
