Hello,
I tried MDLC but when i put the command in command.exe it says that it is unable to locate DictGuid.txt. Does anyone know why?
Thanks for answering

Guide Files ?

Greetings, Bearcat;

Do you happen to know the age of those files, by any chance ?

I installed a recent set of MDLC with a dictguid.txt of 2007... and my install does not HAVE a CFS2Guid.txt file....

And yet it seems to work fine. Before I add the CFS2GUID file, I wonder if anyone else has MDLC installed w/o that file installed...?

The dictGUID is a more detailed combine of FS2002 and CFS2 GUID params. The dictCFS2 is exclusive to CFS2 only, so you don't necessarily need it if you have the former. I attached it for reference anyway.

I tried but now it says it can't find the model (.mdl) that I want to convert. Note that I put the model file in the folder where I am executing mdlc.
:help:

To cut to the chase, give me a list of all the files within the folder at this moment. I'll then tell you what's missing...

I have two folders:
one is in C:\mdlc and contains
_CFS2.md2
_DictGuid.txt
_FS9_to_CFS2
_fsds.md2
_gmax.md2

The other is in C:\users\portarpentier\mdlc and contains
_mdlc.exe
_rtm.exe
_mdlc.ini
and the mdl files

I have two folders because the command promt only allow me to run a program in my portarpentier floder which has a name too long (more than 8 characters) for mdlc.

Move everything into the C:\mdlc folder and change the start path at the top of the mdlc.ini file to MdlcPath=C:\MDLC

Take a copy of cmd.exe from the windows\system32 folder and drop it into the mdlc folder. Delete the empty users\~~\mdlc folder

Get Morton's mk_MDLC program ---> http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=2693 <--- and drop that into the mdlc folder also...its a great shortcut to typing cmd lines

If you choose to use cmd lines, as i do sometimes, temporarily change the mdl's name to a shorty like "X.mdl" for getting around that longname error msg when typing. You can change it back when finished.
