ME 410 Porpoising in autopilot

Anybody have the same problem I have with the new Me 410 porpoising rather severely when placed on autopilot? Anybody know how to fix it? :banghead:

Great! Sorry UncleTgt, must of missed Beepee's post. Thanks again.

Beepee's fix did solve the porpoising, but I'm still getting a sever rudder shudder that is visible in the external view. Only happens when the AP is engaged and makes it impossible to hold a heading.

I tried a takeoff with a squad of them. They all crashed on takeoff. This a common problem. I know it can be fixed.

The one I was flying tried to over-rotate. I guess that's what happened to the AI.

Other than that, I love the plane. Excellent model and cockpits. Good frame rates. Fills a void in the ETO lineup.

Interesting, Ettico.....

I hadn't tried taking off with a group or landing with a group. Using Beepee's DP, and Air fixes, but not the aircraft cfg.....flying with six wingman....all took off and followed in formation. AP switched off. I flew a short course from Nizza to Hyeres with 4 waypoints, takeoff to landing. Three landed before me, three landed after me. Five of the six survived but came to a stop tail up in the air. The last to land did not line up with the runway but made it down only to do a flip as it came to a stop, still tail up, and crashed. Weird.

I tried the same takeoff with Beepie's DP and airfile. Same result. They fly well once airborne, but getting them off the ground seems to be more than the AI can handle.

The plane pulls hard left and tries to over-rotate. It will succeed in over-rotating if you don't come off the rudder and pull back hard on the stick as soon as it has enough speed to take off.

I managed to stay on the runway and got airborne, but the AI planes all veered off the runway and exploded. When I flew over to look at the wreckage, there were no greasy spots, just complete planes sitting in a haphazard jumble as if they had been parked there. But one was standing on it's nose.

I haven't looked at the DP and probably wouldn't recognize the problem if I saw it there, but I noticed the aircraft cfg has a lot of 'airplane geometry' entries that aren't present in the stock planes. I have no idea whether any of that has any bearing on the problem. I don't know how people even discover all these non-stock tweaks. I'm not aware of any documentation on them.

...then I remembered I had forgotten to delete the cdp. Did that and tried again. Same result but I got a look at the AI before they crashed. They were all skidding along on their noses before veering off to the left and exploding. They explode when they collide, but don't visually become wrecks.

Murphy's CFS2 Law: Any tweak not fully tested in every situation will invariably fail in the untested situation(s).

Murphy's 2nd CFS2 Law: Ettico may notice the problem, but will be unable to solve it.
