Once again the day for us to remember our veterans, from this community and everywhere, in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East and beyond. I pray for peace in repose for those fallen and for those still alive. They slip away year by year, my own father passed in 2017, he was US Army a radar specialsit in the UK, a cousin of mine was skipper of BB39 at Pearl Harbor, one uncle was a Marine Pilot another on a LST in the Pacific and my grandfather who served as an officer in both WWI and WWII was a convoy Commodore in the WWII. I have a nephew who is a Captain and a Ranger in the US Army, seconded now to the FBI. My thoughts and prayers to to all member of our community here who served or serve. Thank you and God Bless to them and you all. Thank you
Chris Gerlach

Chris; Thanks for posting this. Every Memorial Day that passes I remember my friends who long ago in SNam became forever young and those of my friends who did come home physically never left that place and have long since joined the others. I still remember them as they were, my friends and buddies.
I also had a uncle in WW2 who was on Eisenhowers' (sp) staff for D-Day and retired as a General. Others, too numerous to mention, were in the Navy , Pattons Third, and Marines on Guadacanal and Iwo.

Thanks Fibber and thanks to you and your buddies and to your family members ..i am glad that we have remembered them all. They gave a lot to all of us. Thank you all.

Chris

Thank you, Chris:
I may be a day late, but I am happy to see that some of you on this site remember the day and the people. Here is a re-posting of a photo of my Dad, receiving a Bronze Star for valor - Guam 1944-45.

May the Creator bless and keep close those, who fell in the struggle to defend Freedom!

Cheers:
Greg - Shadow Wolf-07

Hi Greg ,great to hear from you, i have been away for a while, glad to see you are still here :) My respects to your father, Guam was no cake walk, glad he made it thru. Very nice photo. I think of all of those guys often, for I continue to read and study the events of that conflict on both sides, been focusing my study on the Japanese experience esp the effects on the life on the home islands and the fleet as well. Very glad to see work continues here on CFS2, Stuarts' work on the naval side is beyond epic...just now catching up on collecting them all !

Very glad to see others remember on this special day as well.

Chris
