Metal2Mesh Avionics Upgrade F-15E (Aug 23)

I thought the Original F-15E was no longer available, but it's still up at all the usual places.. But unless you really can't wait, it will probably be cheaper to wait for the M2M V2.0 of the Mudhen.

Yes indeed. The AU is for users only who have a legal copy of the original F-15 Strike Eagle distributed by Iris. Those who do , when they buy the AU will get the version 2 for free.
For those who do not own a copy of the original released Srike Eagle should not buy the AU at all, but better, like Ferry suggested, wait for the version 2 wich will be released by M2M.

When they get the paypal issues sorted please let us know. I've got a copy sitting in my shopping cart but no preferred way to pay for it. Just wants credit card info for now.

At first I considered this an upgrade for an earlier released product, but it is more than that. Metal2Mesh has completely redone the avionics of the F-15E Mudhen. Purchasing this upgrade will allow those who purchased the original IRIS F-15E to upgrade to a complete new aircraft once Version 2 is done for free. Those who don't have the original should wait to purchase the new M2M version when it is done.

This sticky is essentially an introduction of Metal2Metal and the great products we can look forward to. Thanks to Hank for the heads up.

Engine start logic, associated systems and sounds are really nice, nav functions work well, did a xc hop with no problems to get used to the UFC etc. FM seems like a very reasonable facsimile, almost as good as the Milviz in that area, in general.

This is my first exposure to the Iris bird, never tried it without the AU. So far haven't figured out how to activate stores configuration; just been flying around clean. Perhaps I have a borked install? Did a second install and the shift-2 configure panel is still inert.

While on the ground, put the park-brakes on, look down by your left elbow, there's a little switch in the corner. Klick it forward, that activates your stores config panel. Pick your stores, then Klick it backward and it saves your stores.
Brakes must be on for this to work, at least they did pre-update.
good luck.

Just bought the upgrade from Razbam and downloading it as we speak. Wow, package is 671MB, so you really get new content for the price:applause:

The following information is from an official source, the creator and rightful owner of the F-15E model, which is M2M:

If you don't own the Iris F-15E Mudhen Driver, you still get the new F-15E v2 from M2M for free when released provided you buy only the AU now. Yes, it's like a pre-release buy option for the incredible new v2 of the F-15E from Metal 2 Mesh for only $15 USD now. Once v2 is released, the AU won't be available to claim v2 for free. What does this mean? Yes, you don't need a copy if the F-15E from iris in order to get v2 for free, just buy the AU and you will get it. You won't be able to fly the F-15E though if you only have the AU and not the Iris F-15E Mudhen Driver, so you have to wait for v2 to be released to enjoy a full brand new model, but again, at only a fraction of the cost.

Jose.

After you install the M2M AU becomes M2M

To further clarify, after you install the M2M AU over your existing Iris F-15E Mudhen Driver, the whole model turns completely into a Metal 2 Mesh model. This means you get all the great stuff like updates/upgrades from M2M and full support is given by the guys also at M2M.

So, this version 2.0 was released?

"Current Version & HotfixesCurrent Version available via sales partners – Version 2.00"

Or wait for the new v2.0 included Avionic Upgrade on M2M store to be clear?

Sounds confusing but the IRIS v2.00 is older than the Metal2Mesh AU upgrade. This is the timeline:

IRIS Airforce Series Mudhen Driver initial release (released Jan 2012)
IRIS Airforce Series Mudhen Driver v2.00 update (released May 2012)

Then, the owner of the model (Tim Taylor) withdrew the model from IRIS to be further developed and published by M2M:

M2M F-15E Avionics Upgrade v1.00 (released Aug 2013, requires the IRIS Mudhen to be installed)
M2M F-15E Avionics Upgrade v1.10 (announced, will fix v1.00 issues)
M2M F-15E v2.0 (announced, full version featuring a completely new exterior model)
